When does a combination of old-school Volkswagon vans, skateboard culture, and a generous heaping of Guy Fieri ever come together??? RIGHT HERE, BABYYYY!! Adriean Koleric/thinkITEM, collaborators behind Taco Skate Co. make lowbrow/diy vibe shirts, stickers, artwork and hand out free taco recipe cards. It's awesome! When you swing by their booth, really do ask them about Guy Fieri: it's a great convo. They first set-up with us at Bison in May of 2017 and we're excited to have them vending with us again this spring! Keep up with the duos progress on both instagram (@tacosk8co) and twitter (@tacoskateco) and read on down below to see what's been inspiring them to create!
RB: What draws you to making/designing things?
TACO: It’s only natural. It’s literally something I just have to do.
RB: What’s new for your line/business this spring?
TACO : We got a couple of new tee shirts. One that we named ‘Jim’ after a long time Supporter as well as a new ‘Heritage’ logo tee. Also a fresh sticker pack called ‘HARDSHELL’, button packs that are best described as ‘greasy’ and a bunch of new hand sketches. Oh and recycled skate decks!
RB: What’s in your designer/maker/creative plans for 2018?
TACO: We’re working on making free old school cassette mix-tapes that we’d like to include with future orders. We want people to hear what we hear while we were creating the gear they just scored. Also hoping to add a Corn Salad Recipe Card to accompany our Taco Recipe’s. Cause everyone needs a side order from time to time.
RB: Tell us about a few of your designer/maker/creative crushes:
TACO: Ed Templeton (Toy Machine) got us to turn off our laptop and hand sketch again. Rothfink (UK VW Brand) that inspired us to incorporate a vintage Volkswagen vibe. They were also cool enough to reply to us after reaching out for some advice. Lastly VICE cooking shows. We’re still looking back at the lasagna we made off a Matty Matheson YouTube episode.
