Joshua Kale Smith, long time vendor with our market, fragrance-wizard behind Libertine Fragrances, and all-around pleasant human being is back for the November weekend of our fair - and we couldn't be happier about it! Read on down below to find out more about what makes Josh tick.
Q: What does it mean to be an Edmonton maker/designer/artist?
LF: Being an Edmonton maker and designer is being surrounded by an amazingly talented tight knit community of other creatives on an island in an ocean of tough working blue collar industry folk. It makes a community more supportive and closer than would be the case if we lived in a more artistic city.
Q: What are your top 3 influences (artists, things, etc)?
LF: Oscar Wilde and the late 1800’s in Europe. Moody Landscapes, 1960’s Lincoln 4 doors
Q: Favourite Bison item you’ve picked up at a previous fair?
LF: My “Drown yer Sorrows” print from Chris Cooper
