Lindsay Jones + Carly Zaraska are a powerful duo. Their friendship began in 2011 while completing their Bachelor of Education degrees. Combining their passions for education, sustainability, and natural beauty products led them to branch out and join forces to launch a brand they could stand behind; Rosa & Lilium Apothecary is a line of eco-conscious bath and body products crafted by hand in Alberta and Saskatchewan. They'll be back again for both weekends of the fair, and we couldn't be more excited to see them there! Read more about them below:
Q: What does it mean to be an Edmonton maker/designer/artist?
R+L: Being makers in Edmonton is about being part of an innovative community that thrives on being quirky and mega supportive of one another. To say we are inspired by the creative minds of YEG would be an understatement – they don’t just inspire us, they propel us forward. At the end of the day, all of us are simply doing our best to put our tiny puzzle piece down in hopes of contributing to the same big picture goal – a rad city we proudly call home, becoming even more rad.
Q: What are your top 3 influences (artists, things, etc)?
- Input of our friends, family, and loyal customers
Q: Favourite Bison item you’ve picked up at a previous fair?
R+L: This is a HARD question. We NEVER have buyers remorse with our Bison swag. If we have to pick just one thing though, we’ll go with our AB/SK necklace from Smithstine – it functions as our friendship necklace, which is super nerdy in the best way.
