The Bolo Tie Collective is a writing community based out of MacEwan University where local writers, both aspiring and established, can hone their skills while sharing their stories with a wider audience.

Eighteen Bridges is a magazine concerned with people, politics, culture, and ideas, its articles substantial and grounded in the tradition of narrative journalism.

Hingston & Olsen is the outfit responsible for the Short Story Advent Calendar, an internationally acclaimed collection of sealed stories that get opened, one by one, on the mornings leading up to Christmas.
Monto Books is Edmonton’s newest independent publisher looking to capture the spirit of the city and share it with the world.
Founded in 1977, NeWest Press is one of Canada’s first independent literary publishing houses. NeWest publishes literary fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and drama, as well as a line of mystery novels, with a particular interest in books by Western Canadian authors.
On Spec is one of Canada’s oldest journals of speculative fiction, with a mix of sci-fi, fantasy, horror and other fantastical literature in every issue. We’re proud to be Edmonton-based and produced.
Founded in 2014, Stonehouse Publishing publishes literary and trade fiction, with a special focus on historical fiction. Their list includes a diverse selection of titles and authors, and they have plans to re-release classic works in the near future.
